Am just starting this thread in the hope that it will help keep me motivated and possibly everybody else. As we all know the bike is a wonderfull way of keeping fit also a great way to de' stress but it can also go the other way (as I know all too well). The first the you got to remember is who and what you are doing it for (yourself and the sheer delight of beating your last time in a TT ,beating the other guy who is always beating you lets face it we all do that that what makes us tick), and also remember listen to your body EXTREMLEY important (been there too). Enjoy it try and keep a good sense of humor it makes it lots easier and keep away from negative situations and people you will get dragged down. Enough of the counciling now!!!
Liam when can we get some smiley faces on tap it could add a little crack to an odd reply maybe its not on this package? I started back training there in late January OMG I got a shock. I suppose 1stone heavier don't really help much part of the reason I started back. I met Wesely Moore one day he nearly tore the legs of me but i persisted then went out one Saturday morning with the lads got another hiding boo! hoo!. Been keepin at it since about 3 or 4 times a week. Was out there on Sunday christ my legs were ***** must have been the cold weather cos when I started I was grand but had a good decent and was foundered never was right after it wanted to do 2hrs but was in such bad shape only could manage 1hr 45min phew!.
Went out yesterday holy moly I think I got a new engine in me sun was out ya see not just as cold by god it felt satisfying when I was finished.
Now people can reply to this also can start their own just to add a bit of crack tay it all a wee bit of slagging+banter but ABSOLUTLEY!!!! no malicous those replies will be removed. So come on have a bit of crack folks and all the best to everyone and have a good season plenty of PBs.

Wouldn't advise a thermal top as you end up like an oven.....but plenty of layers and definately thermal leggings.

in light of recent crashes i would urge everyone who swings their leg over a bike of any kind to make sure a suitable helmet is worn. i dont know why anyone would not wear one.vanity perhaps? although a helmet looks better than a busted head. buy the best you can afford. castle cycles have a wide range so no excuses.

Aye folks best a luck ride long and hard! but be careful alot of nervous buckos out there I know its easy for me to say not goin and all that but if you stay in the first twenty or so it is probably the safest place to be as regards accidents also good for getting away.

quick up date, today seen another very hard day at the office of fourmasters race teams. todays test was 75mile approx 75 riders set out in cold but dry conditions in the A GROUP we had 6 riders partakin, shaun steward, eddie sweeney ,ciaran o sullivan, jason black ,pat gill, jason mc hugh, and in the B GROUP we had 2 riders, gavin harris, keith davision.excellent showing by all. pace was fairly controlled to 20mph to the half way point and then the hair started flying, the bunch broke into 10 of a lead bunch with 5 fourmasters riders avg speed now recorded 24/5mph and in the final 15 miles with incredible pace been set @ 30mph. 10 broke into 5 riders due to riders dropping wheels, now with about a 20sec gap ,with ciaran o sullivan ,eddie sweeney gettin into the break and the other 3 narrowly missing out, each bunch of 5 riders rode the wheels of their bikes with a crazy 40mph for last 2 mile to omagh (with very sore legs).congrats must go to omagh wheelers on a very sucessfull event. thats the final test for the fourmasters race teams and its now its off to pheonix gp next weekend ........ keith & gavin competed very well and reported they managed the 55 mile circuit well and felt comfortable throughout they are competing next weekend in the phenoix gp as A4 CATS and will give a good account of them selfs in the club colours.......... MORE GREAT NEWS THIS WEEKEND "PAURIC MC CAFFERTY" was very sucessfull in his bid to secure an ulster jersey and ride for the ulster junior development team for 2010 ,and im sure the club will give pauric all the tools and support to sucessfully pick up some vital points in this years junior calander.with option to compete in the junior tour of ireland and poss the junior tour of wales ,so the worlds his oyster as they say.thanks to liam tinney and gary mellon for managing pauric today. SO A PACKED WEEKEND OF ACTION ALL ROUND FOR FOURMASTERS AND THE CLUB COLOURS WE PROUDLY DISPLAYED AROUND THE NORTH THIS WEEKEND

This probably is'nt the case lads but as this is a cyclists injury run would'nt it be a terrible ironary (god forbid it does'nt happen) if there were an accident while doing this and as most people will not have their licences by that stage is the club insured for a case just like this at this early in the year. Youse have probably looked at that anyway folks.
