A total of 19 cyclist took part in the second round of the Four Masters Cycling Club, Joe Patton Construction, sponsored club race league last night. Round 2 on the 12 week league was a 10 mile time trail which took part on the Burt to Bridgend road. All cyclists took advantage of the strong tail wind which they had on the first half of the course towards Derry, but any time made on this section was lost by the head wind on the return half of the course.
Despite the strong winds some good times were made with Paul Mc Creay of the Roe Valley cycling club having a time of 23.05 to take first place on the race, which leaves him in join 1st place with Francy Coyle of Four Masters cycling club in the overall standing in the Joe Patton Construction League.
Round 3 of the league takes place next Tuesday night and is a 25 mile road race on the Slab road in Burt. More information on the league and cycling in Donegal can be obtained from www.fourmasterscycling.com
