Poison Glen Tour 2005
POISON GLEN TOUR IN AID OF IAN MC LOUGHLIN

Over 70 cyclists took to the roads on Sunday , 18th September 2005 to raise fund for a Four Masters Club member who is currently confined to a wheel chair after a work related accident. Ian Mc Loughlin, raced in Ireland at the highest level, and competed in the FBD Milk Ras.
The cycle started from Black’s Steak House at the Mountain Top in Letterkenny, with two groups leaving at a 45-minute separation, to accomadate all grades of cyclists, and to try to keep traffic disruption to a minimum
The cyclists travelled from Black’s to Kilmacrennan, Cresslough, Dunfannagh, Falcarragh and Gortahork. After turning right outside Gorkahork the cyclists had to battle with a severe head wind, for about 8 miles until the Dunlewy turn off, where they turned right and headed back up the back of Errigail.
There was a feed station at the foot of Errigail, which was a welcome break for all, after the Poison Glen climb.
Leaving refreshed the cyclists travelled on towards Glenveagh National Park and then Termon.
The full group was re-grouped in Kilmacrennan, where they we escorted into Letterkenny, by Ian Mc Loughlin.
The Cycle was supported by members of Four Masters Cycling Club, Foyle Cycling, Omagh Wheelers, Planet X, LakeLand, and many more.
The Four Masters Club would like to thank all those who attended and raised money. A Special thank you must also go to Jason Black, form Black’s Steak House, who was the main sponsor for the run, and who also provided refreshments at the finish line.
The club would also like to thank the run’s other sponsors, Castle Cycles, Bizzcards, E Tinney & Sons, and CM Embroidery.
