Deignan’s main goal will be to help the 2008 Tour de France winner Carlos Sastre as he bids for a podium finish in the race. We also have Philip Deignan and Hayden Roulston as potential stage winners.”Deignan’s selection follows a solid spring with the new team. He finished fifth on a mountain stage in the Vuelta a Castilla y León and took a fine seventh overall. He was also 11th in the Tour de Langkawi and 8th in the Giro del Mendrisiotto. Last Sunday he finished 44th in Liège-Bastogne-Liège. He has previously competed in two Grand Tours; the 2007 Vuelta a Espana and the 2008 Tour of Italy. He was 79th in the Giro d’Italiacelebrate andhis placedgreat 71stachievement inat the Tour of Spain. The latter race also saw him place tenth, twelfth and sixteenth on stages.
